  About that "Islamic terrorist" crack...

Two days ago, as I noted here, Tony Blair declared that he supports the London police 101 percent in their crude and violent efforts to apprehend terrorism suspects.

The police had shot one of the men for no apparent reason while barging into his house. If that in itself did not set off alarm bells, then the mangling Blair gave to basic math ought to have told you that the facts were on the suspects' side. Blair has a habit of becoming increasingly frenzied in his support of rough and ready justice as the official versions of those events come unravelled.

You may remember Blair's callous remarks last July after the brutal murder of Jean Charles de Menezes in a London Underground station, when police held him down and blew his head off.

A Downing Street spokesman said: "The prime minister has said all along he supports all the efforts of police and law enforcement agencies."

In other words, it could only have been a matter of time before the London police released without charge the two brothers they arrested in the "terror" raid just one week ago.
