The fifth anniversary of that other international criminal conspiracy
Last fall, the US news media dutifully marked the fifth anniversary of the September 11 attacks in which nearly three thousand Americans were killed. Last week, it was utterly silent about the fifth anniversary of a different but even more deadly criminal conspiracy. It was on July 23, 2002 in a meeting in London that the British Cabinet confirmed that it would join with the Bush administration in using stealth and deception to manipulate the U.N. and to provoke an invasion of Iraq that it knew was illegal under international law. The two countries were involved in a criminal conspiracy, of that there can be no doubt. The toll in death and destruction from this conspiracy continues to mount...uncounted because the damage is beyond count.
